Prayer at CU

“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive them their sin and heal their land” 2 Chronicles 7:14

At Edinburgh CU we want to be a prayerful people as well as mission focused. In fact they both go hand in hand. Mission does not work without prayer and prayer does not suffice unless we go out in God’s strength. So prayer is a vital part of our CU’s life. We want to get down on our knees and pray for our friends, our course mates and our flatmates. We want to see God move and change lives in Edinburgh University and we want to see how God will use us to affect Edinburgh University in the four years we have there. We offer some great ways to do just that!

Prayer Breakfast- Every Wednesday Morning 7.30-8.30 Buccleuch Free Church

This is a fantastic opportunity to take an hour out of our busy schedules, join with the rest of CU and focus our minds on God. At Prayer Breakfast we spend time praying for our university, our friends and other points that are relevant to that week. We also have some worship throughout the hour. If that hasn’t won you over, we also have a breakfast provided for us by the 1st year small groups which is never a disappointment! What a way to start your day! A brilliant God and brilliant food!

Faculty Groups

Faculty groups are a chance to meet up with people from different years doing similar subjects as you and pray. It is a great way to encourage one another and learn from each other and of course pray for your course mates and your faculty area. There will be faculty groups at different locations around the university:

1.      Kings Buildings

2.      Moray House

3.      New College

4.      Several at George Square.

Details of leaders and times will come at the start of CU meetings and times. It would be great if you can get plugged into a faculty group and see change in your campus.

We also have prayer ministry that happens in our Friday meetings and other prayer events during the year. If you would like to get involved in anything or like any more information on anything feel free to email me at prayer@eucu.org.uk I would to hear from you!

Love and Blessings
