Here is a provisional timetable of all the events that Edinburgh Christian Union will be putting on during freshers week 2010. In the timetable black events are for current students; red ones are for all freshers; green ones are aimed at international students; and blue ones are run by Christians in Sport. As well as the events shown there are also church searches happening for 3 Sundays following freshers week.

Free Lunch:

Time: 1-2pm Monday 13th, Wednesday 15th and Friday 17th

Location: Bristo Square/Chaplaincy

What is it?: The name pretty much says it all!

Ceilidh:

Time: 8.00pm, Friday 17th

Location: McEwan Hall

What is it?: If you don't know what a ceilidh is then this event is a must as it will be a great introduction to a legendry Scottish tradition. If you do know what a ceilidh is then you should definitely join us for arguably the biggest and best ceilidh of Edinburgh Freshers' week.

Football and Frisbee:

Time: 2.30pm on Tuesday 14th and Thursday 16th

Location: Meet on Library steps

What is it?: This provides a nice chance to chill out and get to know some people in the middle of what will most likely be a busy Freshers' week.

Small Groups:

Time: 2.30pm for Flat/Home, 5.30pm for Pollock small groups on Thursday 16th

Location: Chaplaincy for Flat/Home groups

Living as a Christian:

Time: 1.30pm Tuesday 14th

Location: Chaplaincy upstairs room 1

What is it?: Worried about uni life? Wondering how your faith fits into your new life in Edinburgh? Uncertain about what exactly you believe? These are all anxieties felt as people start university so 'Living as a Christian' gives an opportunity to hear from christians in 2nd, 3rd and 4th year as to their experiences of living out their faith at uni.

Worship Session:

Time: 2-3pm Monday and Friday

Location: Chaplaincy upstairs room 1

What is it?: An opportunity to take time to praise God.

Meadows Football:

Time: 11.30am Saturday

Location: Library steps

What is it?: It is football and, in case you were in doubt, it is on the meadows.

Simply Scottish:

Time: Monday 7.00pm

Location: Chaplaincy, main auditorium

What is it?: An evening of Scottish fun, dancing, quizzes and haggis, neeps, tatties and of course Irn Bru. A great chance as an international student to be introduced to the most amazing, diverse and welcoming culture on earth (yes I am a bit biased). A fantastic way to meet other international students, get contacts, start friendships.

Photo Scavenger Hunt

Time: Saturday, 2.00pm for treasure hunt

Location: Library steps

What is it?: An excuse to have a wander round one of the greatest cities this planet has got to offer, and listen to my wealth of knowledge on this city (going to have to read a guide book...).

Grub Crawl:

Time: 5.30pm Tuesday

Location: Meet on steps at Commonwealth pool

What is it?: An event much like a pub crawl except we replace the pub with some comfortable flats, and we replace the beer by plentiful amounts of very tasty food. If that doesn't sound amazing then you clearly aren't a student yet!

Pub Quiz and Acoustic Night:

Time: 7.30pm Wednesday

Location: Teviot Mezzanine

What is it?: This will be a chilled out relaxed evening to enjoy a light hearted pub quiz and some great live music.
